The subject French Theatre contains the evolution, the genres and historical realizations from the beginnings to the present day, which in some way or other (or in no way) determined the development of French drama and theatre, with particular regards to the classicist theatre and the underlying ideas. Selected chapters of FT will therefore give students the insight into particular creativity of each respective creative approach in French drama and theatre. Methodology and hermeneutics of reading, understanding and visual perception of dramatic texts will be considered as of special importance.
The subject is limited to the French dramatic art, however, other influences than French are present.
